Good morning and happy Thursday! Today marks the beginning of my Fall reading break, a four-day weekend dedicated to preparing for midterm tests and papers due next week. I’m looking forward to the opportunity to catch up on all the work that’s been piling up these last few weeks.
I’m checking in this morning to share a workout I completed earlier this week, which incorporates intervals of running and heavy lifting for one challenging combination! I call it the 3 x 5 Workout, because it includes 3 5-minute blocks of running with 3 sets of 5 rep lifts.
I used the 35-pound bar plus additional assorted plates for the lifting portion, and ran each 5-minute block at 8.0 mph. The running combined with the compound lifting had my heart pumping throughout the entire workout. I have a feeling that this one is going to become a regular workout in the rotation.
After breakfast, I’m off to the library to get some work done. I hope you have a fantastic Thursday!
